Recycle Le Book

Where’s Geoff Capes when you need him? He used to be a dab hand at tearing telephone directories in half. I could have done with his help last night when I recycled a couple of old copies of Le Book, a weighty annual directory of photographers, art directors and other fashion marketing folk. The problem is that the breeze block sized tomes are wiro-bound using the kind of stuff normally reserved for keeping cattle in fields. It took me ages to rip all the pages out in chunks. I thought this best, as I’m sure that paper recycling machines and metal wire don’t get on too well. It might be nice if organisations like Le Book, Yellow Pages and Business Pages offered to pick up old copies of their books for recycling when they drop off the new ones.

40 minutes waiting time on the call to T-Mobile to get a faulty handset replaced. My ear is hot.

Unexpected

“Welcome to T-Mobile. Due to an unexpectedly high call volume you may have to wait some time before your call is answered.” Surely by now it’s not really that unexpected. They’ve had this message playing constantly for the last few months. Come on, stop slacking, pay for some more staff you tight wads!

Walking

I normally walk, run, cycle or at least bus it everywhere in London, with taxis thrown in for those times when my legs have become ‘tired’ from standing at the bar, so www.walkit.com is really useful for finding out how far a walk will be. However, while looking at this walking map website I was blown away by the fact that a 2 mile cab journey produces a kilo of CO2.
